gathers before Israeli Consulate in Manhattan, calling for end to terror through defeat of Hamas.
NEW YORK – Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday on the front lawn of the Israeli Consulate in New York in order to show their support for Israel and the IDF in its fight against Hamas in Gaza.
The demonstration was held under tight police supervision, and speeches were made by the heads of the Jewish community. Participants carried Israeli flags and pictures of the Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza, and called for the halt of Hamas' terror and peace in the Middle East.
Among the demonstrators were Jews, Christians, and even Indian-Americans, as well as members of Jewish organizations such as Students for Peace in the Middle East and Mothers against Terrorism.
Judy Shapiro, a resident of Brooklyn, participated in the rally and said she supported Israel every day of her life, especially after visiting Sderot last year. She said she supported the IDF soldiers and prayed for them daily.
Sari Singer, a New Yorker who was injured in the terror attack on the number 14 bus in Jerusalem in 2003, spoke during the demonstration. She currently manages a center that assists terror victims and their families in the US, Israel, and Canada.
"Hamas is responsible for the terror attacks against me and thousands of other people in Israel," she said. She accused Hamas of causing the 18-year old who executed the attack in which she was injured to leave the Palestinian soccer team in which he played, and said the terror organization must be stopped. Yes indeed, Hamas must be stopped. I am sick of the pundits and the armchair quarterbacks. A member state of the UN has been repeatedly attacked by a terrorist organization and the world looks the other way.
I got into it first thing this morning with some pro-Hamas types on Twitter this morning. I came home and essentially picked the conversation right back up with some serious anti-Israel types. It’s really a must read for everyone trying to defend Israel and a must read for those who enjoy spreading misinformation or outright lies.
Israeli computer engineer discovers he cannot order scarf online from London-based Pashmina company because it has joined Muslim consumer boycott against IDF operation in Gaza.
Meiron Gestman, a computer engineer from Ramat Gan, discovered to his surprise on Monday that he could not purchase a scarf online from the London-based Pashmina company.
The reason for this was that the company which he wished to order from had joined a boycott against Israel due to the military operation in Gaza
"I checked why they didn't charge my credit card, and they told me they were participating in a voluntary boycott on Israel due to "the horrors committed by the Israeli army," he said.
Behind the boycott is a British organization of Muslim consumers, who have imposed a boycott on Israel as well as all Jewish-owned American companies in protest against the fighting in Gaza and the US's support for Israel in the battle.
The boycott received a warm welcome by many British internet sites, especially those related to Islam, and reports have been published by British newspapers. However Pashmina stressed to Gestman that it was only boycotting Israel, not all Jews.
A so called "moderate muslim" organization are boycotting Israel and supporting Hamas, a terrorist organization. UK is supporting this? They are f**king crazy!
In other news British telecom firm severs ties with Israel because of Gaza offensive. UK has just entered the United Republic of Islam....welcome to the dark ages.
The Taliban says their smelly unwashed fighters need wives and the locals just are not delivering.
Via Ace: Obviously anytime Al Qaedaists reveal their true face to the local populace, it's good news. But perhaps it's even better than good. The Taliban must know that this is a wildly unpopular demand to make. Even if they hadn't had known of Al Qaeda's experience in making this demand in Iraq, they should know that "let my hairy stinking psychopathic 'fighters' rape your young daughters for a few months until they go back to Karachi" is not a request likely to go over very well.
What? you mean young hot Pushtun chicks do not want to have to marry guys like this?

Any violation of these prohibitions shall not release the Parties to the conflict from their legal obligations with respect to the civilian population and civilians, including the obligation to take the precautionary measures provided for in Article 57
The UN sucks on calling out Hamas using Gazans as human shields. What is it so damn hard recognizing Hamas as a terrorist organization hell bent on destroying Israel? Why in the hell don't we see the outrage of Hamas putting the citizens of Gaza in harms way? We have protests condoning the acts of Hamas and yet screaming for Israel to stop. Where are the so called "moderate muslims" condemning Hamas's action? Link anyone?
I will now return you to your regular scheduled program...
Update: As n.a.palm in comments so eloquently said:
"Those laws you quoted aren't worth the paper they're written on. They don't give a rats ass for innocents caught up in war".
January 6, 2009 A new message from Al Qaeda second in command Dr. Ayman al Zawahiri entitled "The Massacre in Gaza and the Siege of the Traitors" was released this afternoon by As Sahab.
The message, in the form of an audio tape played over a still image, is 10 minutes, 18 seconds in length.
In the message, Zawahiri says: "Be strong and persist in the way of Jihad. The whole Muslim ummah is united with you. We will never stop until we avenge the death of all who are killed, injured, widowed and orphaned in Palestine and throughout the Islamic world. We are at work to carry out the promise of our fighting sheikh Osama Bin Laden (may Allah protect him) who promised that America will not live in peace in their dreams before before we live in peace in Palestine, and until all the forces of the infidels leave the lands of Muhammed."
He makes specific reference to US President-elect Barack Obama as well as to Egyptian President Husni Mubarak: What you are facing today is just occupation and settlement that is limited to one area or one country, but is part of a series in the Crusaders war against Islam. These air strikes are a gift from Obama before he takes office, and from Husni Mubarak, the traitor who is the primary partner in your siege and murder.
