The arrest of Faical Errai, senior administrator of the Arabic-language Ansar al-Mujahideen forum, gave the surviving members of the administrative team a perfectly good opportunity to leave the field of battle.
But no.
A review of the administrative log of the site, circa January 2009, reveals four or five individuals were involved in setting up the forum. First and foremost was Faical Errai, in Spain, assisted to a large extent by a gentleman in Qatar. Additional help was provided by a Tunisian, a Palestinian in the West Bank (Nablus?), and a Jordanian. Initially, all these individuals shared the main administrative login (userid 1). Later separate admin accounts were created. Examples:

Do you the enemies of Islam ever think that you will be able to defeat this religion and the believers of Allah. You are fighting the truth, the believers who live for the day they meet their Creator. You live for your desires and lusts while we live to please Allah so that we may attain paradise in the end. You are fighting over lies from your governments who have deceived you all while we fight for Allah against your oppression and injustice that you have forced on the world. Give up your support for falsehood and evil and come to Islam or you will die as a disbeliever and you will enter the punnishment of hellfire forever. This is a warning to you all, you will lose in this life and in the end. The choice is yours.
Blah, blah blah. I'm so skeerd I could just laugh!
Two strikes...second one took out 4 "foreigners" travelling in a car.
MIRAMSHAH: Two US drone strikes on Friday killed at least ten militants, including some foreign fighters, in Pakistan's northwestern tribal belt near the Afghan border, security officials said.
Both strikes hit North Waziristan district, a renowned hub for Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked militants.
The first struck a militant compound on the outskirts of North Waziristan's main town of Miramshah.
It was followed within an hour by a second strike that targeted a car travelling in Datta Khel, a small town 30 kilometres from Miramshah, officials said.
“A US drone fired two missiles on a house used by militants as a compound. Six militants have been killed and three wounded in this attack,” a security official in Peshawar told AFP by telephone of the first strike.
Ah yes, more proof that there are no Salafi jihadists and the entire war on terror is simply a power grab by evil crusaders out to kill and control Muslims.
Also, I'm pretty sure that any sectarian violence in Pakistan was caused by our invasion and illegal occupation, right?
A suicide bombing Friday targeting a Shiite procession in the southern city of Quetta killed 58 people and injured more than 100 others, police said. The explosion came two days after bomb attacks killed 35 people during a Shiite march in another Pakistani city.
***I'm bumping the post because we're heading into the long weekend, I got nothing else right now, and some of the photoshops are getting funny. Except for the goatses. Which would be funny, if it wasn't so horribly, horribly wrong.

Ah, a cult of personality so big it transcends time, space, and religion.
Does this Pakistani politician actually think Obama is a Muslim? Given that Obama is more likely an atheist (a self-worshiping one at that) than a Christian or a Muslim, the idea comes off as more funny than anything else. PTI:
Minister of State for Industries Ayatullah Durrani, who belongs to the ruling Pakistan People''s Party, said the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival, expected to be observed on September 11, would be a "golden opportunity" for Obama to offer Eid prayers and declare himself the leader of all Muslims.
"In this way, all the problems of the Muslim world would be solved," Durrani told The Nation newspaper.
Durrani, a former member of the Pakistan Ideological Council, contended that the Muslim world is in "dire need" of a Caliph and occupying this distinguished slot would provide Obama "exemplary titles" like "Mullah Barack Hussain Obama" or "Allama Obama".
If there is something more than funny here then it is that hopenchange now means a Caliph Obama. Because if Obama's US experience has shown the Islamic world anything it is that he's a uniter, not a divider. The kind of guy that is so popular that the sheer force of his awesomeness can bring together all people -- as Caliph.
But the fact that this guy in the Pakistani government wants a Caliph at all is ... troubling. If this is a mainstream sentiment in Muslim countries then we really are in for some trouble.
For a Caliph would mean that a single individual would have the power to declare jihad for the entire Muslim world (or, at least, Sunni Muslim world). And that is a bad thing, because much of moderate Islam's justification for not declaring jihad is that there is no Caliph to do so. They don't reject the doctrine of jihad per se, they just proclaim there is no one with authority to declare it.
Think we have problems with jihadis now? Imagine if a larger portion of Muslims believed that there was some ruler on the Earth with the authority to declare holy war. Big problem, folks.
I remember reading one or two of the Ender's Game sequels in which one of the kids unites the Muslim world and declares himself Caliph. Card's Caliph was a kind of benign dictator. The kind of dictator who had the strength and charisma to forcibly reform Muslim countries internally. But it didn't stop him from invading neighboring non-Muslim countries.
But even if we were to imagine some kind of benign dictator Caliph that was all about love peace and harmony, the problem with all dictators is that they eventually die. And who's to gaurantee that the next Caliph wouldn't decalre holy war on us?
Think it's bad with 10% of Muslims supporting violent jihad against the West? Imagine if it were 40 or 50%. Now that is a problem I don't want to have to deal with.
Stop the ACLU has a good post summarizing a few cases that the ACLU has brought recently on behalf of terrorists. One of the cases is suing the federal prisons to let convicted traitor Johnny Walker Lindh pray with other Muslim inmates. What could possibly go wrong?
But the more disturbing lawsuit would prohibit the killing of American citizens who are fighting with our enemies abroad.
The ACLU uses the rhetoric of "government assassination of American citizens without trial." Which makes it sound as if men in black are canvassing the world for political enemies. Scary, no? Except that when you look at the details of who we want dead you realize that the ACLU is misleading people.
Who, exactly, are these Americans who we want dead.
Anwar al-Awlaki, spiritual leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
Adam Gadahn, al Qaeda's English language spokesman.
Now, why is killing these guys a bad thing? Is the ACLU really suggesting that an American citizen who is working for a terrorist organization that we are engaged with militarily cannot be killed?
What do they want, a battlefield subpoena?
Subpoena's dropped from Predator drones rather than bombs?
The alternative to killing our enemies is not a serious option. Which is why the ACLU, once a bastion for liberty, is a joke which would be worth a chuckle if they weren't actually dangerous.
UETTA, Pakistan – Suicide bombings targeting religious minorities killed at least 44 people in Pakistan on Friday, sharply driving up the toll of sectarian assaults in a country already battered by massive flooding.
A blast killed at least 43 people in the southwestern city of Quetta at a Shiite procession calling for solidarity with Palestinians, Police Chief Ghulam Shabir Sheikh said. He said 78 people were wounded and several were in critical condition.
Protesters dragged wounded people into private cars as burning motorcycles sent clouds of black smoke billowing through the streets. The bodies of the dead and wounded lay strewn across the road.
Some Shiite youths fired in the air after the blast, and Qazi Abdul Wahid, a senior police official, said officers were trying to control the situation.
This will be 100% an overall tax increase. Which isn't all that bad. I mean Clinton Era tax rates were not actually the end of the world. And probably won't be this time as FOXNEWS says.
I might even be for it, if they would spend it to reduce debt and cut spending.
They won't!.
All revenue increases are always an excuse to spend more money.
