Origin Woodwork iPad stand
We've written about our love for simple, wooden tech accessories before with the likes of the wooden TV iPad stand and the curved wooden screen stand. It seems there's just something so appealing about coupling up shiny, sleek gadgets with a natural wood finish.
This latest offering from Shanghai-based company Origin Woodwork is another great stand to add to the natural collection, made out of one solid block of wood.
Available from the Origin Woodwork website.
Pencil Shavings Make Good Portraits [Art]
This is why I am not an artist. When I see pencil shavings, I scoop them up and throw them in the trash. UK artist and designer Kyle Bean, though, keeps them as raw material for a new creation.

Future of Cloud Computing ServicesThis is a guest post by AT&T. Every business has two obstacles: time and money. While it’s always good to take advantage of the newest technology, usually there is a big price to pay in terms of capital commitment. Portable Epi-Inject could be a life saver
The affects of food allergies can range from the small and minor to the serious and life-threatening, which is why it's important for anyone with a known allergy to make sure they have an EpiPen with them at all times.
However, that's much easier said than done, as they're not always compact or easy to remember. The Epi-Inject collection from Maria Pitallano addresses that problem, with a kind of Epipen for personal use that's small and easy to administer and another for public use, which can be installed anywhere.
Not only could Pitallano's Epi inventions really help someone if they suffer a bad reaction, they could also take the stigma away from having a severe food allergy by putting the medication in public spaces.

Google Voice Adds Spam Filter, Identifies "Problem" CallersAs someone who hates phone calls in the first place, Google Voice has been a boon to my workflow. Calls go in and I rarely, if ever, check them. It's truly a marvelous invention.
However, Google Voice now has global spam filtering that allows you to report spam callers and block them. GV always had a blocking system. However, now the data you add to Google Voice percolates out to other users, thereby saving them from your sad fate.

Clever rainwater collector is also a vertical garden
Rainwater collectors are usually small tubs or little pipes that run into a larger reservoir within your home. However, this clever rainwater design called Gota Verde, or Green Drop, aims to turn your rainwater collector into something that isn't just practical, but looks good too.
The Gota Verde works by collecting water from a roof through a series of small tubes, these then feed the rainwater into a large tank behind the structure. The water is then fed to the plants that grow up the front automatically, or it can be sprayed onto them manually with a hose pipe. As the plants grow they cover the front of the collector, turning it into an indoor vertical garden.
The Gota Verde is only a prototype at the moment, but certainly works to change the way we look at rain collectors and indoor gardens. I imagine it'd be a huge hit among those with city apartments with only a small amount of balcony or kitchen space that want a little piece of greenery inside their homes.

My Next Coffee MachineI am totally smitten by this simple exploration of basic shapes like rectangle, cylinder and hole. The resulting coffee machine is a stunning design that is bare-minimal and intuitive. The only thing different is the operations; the brew is made by pre...
